Muddy Gras

This weekend I traveled with the rest of the Ultimate team to Baton Rouge to play in a Mardi Gras Tournament. The car ride was about eight and a half hours long and all we did was listen to hip hop mash-ups. On Friday we went to a party thrown by the associations that were hosting the tournament. The party was a bit lame but I got to meet some cool people from other schools around the country. The next day we had to get up and get to the fields by seven in the morning. Everyone was tired and exhausted by the drive the day before. That morning there was water and frost all across the fields. After about ten minutes the fields were covered in nothing but mud. We lost our first two games because we had no idea how to run or play in these conditions. After a while and a few inspirational pep talks by our coach we came back and won our last two games of the day. By the end of the day we were covered head to toe in mud and dirt. The next day we had one chance to get into a championship bracket. We played extremely hard against a team better than us and even though we lost by only one point we left the tournament happy.
